As a women of color, my retreats are a container for other POC, our allies, friends, and loved ones. Open to all, we will do more than just yoga - on retreat you'll participate in a combination of fitness classes and yoga styles to balance you out. A typical day will begin with a strength training class such as Sculpt, Cardio, or Barre, and we'll end the day with a Restorative, Yin or Slow Flow practice. I also lead guided meditations to help settle your mind and reduce anxiety. Over the course of the week you will improve your strength, flexibility, stamina and balance; growth happens fast and I'm here to support you on your journey. Always taught from a place of anatomical alignment, I strive to give thoughtful, motivational and insightful instruction where no one will be left behind. Whether it's a high energy class or restorative practice you can expect great music on this retreat - I take requests :)
Join me. You will have a GREAT time and will have INCREDIBLE food no matter you dietary restrictions. There is something for everyone and trust, you will come back totally relaxed, refreshed and energized.
I began teaching in 2011, and have been inspired by too many numerous teachers, yogi’s, yogini's, pilates instructors, dancers, athletes, movers, and bodyworkers to count. I am certified in Vinyasa, Power, Barre, and Sculpt and offer athletic and holistic classes centered around alignment. My classes are fun, creative, challenging and give great results, both physically and mentally. I began leading retreats in 2017 and since then have taken 13 groups to various places in Mexico and Arizona. I love going to warm, sunny climates because the sun, earth and surf are main characters on all of my trips. The sun is healing, the water is calming, the land - grounding.
Working up a good sweat is equally as important as nurturing your mind-body connection so I teach a variety of things. Studies show that bodies need a little bit of everything to thrive - from yoga to strength training, so I pull that into all of my retreats and always keep it playful because let's face it, a sense of humor helps everything.
My family and I moved to Portland, OR in 2020 after 25 years in the Bay Area. I have two kids in college, and a huge family in Minneapolis. The older I get the more I realize what’s really important: noticing, appreciating, moving, creating, connecting, listening, sharing, vibing and thriving.
I can't wait to meet you on my next retreat so we can raise a glass to our new female President.
